Amber is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a certified Pilates Instructor through Club Pilates Teacher Training Program, as well as CPR/AED certified.

Amber has lived in San Antonio for about 7 years and has always had a huge passion for fitness. When she first moved here from Brownsville, Texas Amber went to Northwest Vista College and then later transferred to Texas A&M San Antonio to study Exercise Science in Pre-Physical Therapy. She was quickly intrigued with the world of physical therapy and found herself wanting to help others achieve their fitness goals so they can be the best version of themselves.

One of her approaches to help individuals overcome obstacles when it comes to staying active is to let them know that this is going to benefit them in the long run. Living a healthy lifestyle can be challenging, but when you have the correct tools to help you through it then you can achieve great things!

Amber has met clients and individuals who struggle with finding a balance between their social life and their health. As a fitness expert, she has plans on reminding her clients that they deserve to feel good and take care of their own bodies. Self-care is so important and everyone needs to practice it!

Amber danced throughout her childhood and teenage years and that’s how she became fascinated with how the body works. When she started practicing Pilates she realized how many different aspects of the body come into play. Balance, posture, functional patterns, and resistance training are all fundamentals that she uses during her training sessions. Joseph Pilates developed the concept of “Contrology”, which defines the way we build a mind-body connection while exercising our muscles. His method is beneficial for individuals who feel like they can’t exercise due to certain health conditions or injuries.

Amber worked with a client who had a shoulder injury and had little to no range of motion. The client came to physical therapy 2-3x a week, where we massaged her to loosen up the tight muscles and practiced different exercises to strengthen her shoulder. After a month, she was finally able to reach the back of her head to brush her hair again, she was so thankful and started tearing up. That feeling was so rewarding and even though Amber already knew this was her passion, that day she was reassured that she wanted to continue helping others accomplish their fitness goals!

One day she hopes to open her own Pilates studio with a physical therapy aspect or a conditioning and strengthening facility. Amber is intrigued to work with different kinds of athletes such as surfers, dancers, and skateboarders to help them find proper functional patterns and movements to benefit their career.

Some of Amber's hobbies include painting, camping, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends and family! She's also a dog mom to a boxer/pitbull named Barkley who is the world to her.
