Amanda has had a passion for helping others since the age of fifteen which led her on a path to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2008 followed by her Master’s of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake in 2009. Amanda obtained her Clinical Social Work license in 2015 and began her journey as a mental health counselor.


Amanda’s therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Guided Imagery, behavioral interventions and grounding techniques including Emotional Freedom, otherwise known as Tapping. She enjoys working with adults and families in a holistic and creative manner to provide meaningful and individualized treatment aimed at the unique needs and goals of each client. In addition, Amanda has experience working with pain and chronic illness, grief and loss, mood disorders including depression and anxiety, relational concerns, parenting and stress reduction strategies.


Her passion for holistic treatment with varied approaches comes from a core belief that mind, body and spirit are integrally connected, and that treatment should be person-centered, total health focused and in this way can be truly transformative as she has seen in a number of diverse practice settings. In the future, Amanda would like pursue training and certification in EMDR and trauma.


In her free time, Amanda enjoys a balanced lifestyle with her husband, daughter and rescue pup named Grace. She loves running half marathons although her current fitness passion/hobby is Crossfit where her community pushes her outside her comfort zone while never letting her take herself too seriously!
