MEET SUZANNE

Licensed Professional Counselor

Ms. Suzanne Bonds is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Bachelors in Psychology from University of Texas in San Antonio and Masters degree in Professional Counseling from West Texas A&M University. Suzanne is experienced as a mental health liaison to a university athletics department with men’s and women’s NCAA teams, athletes, coaches and trainers. She is currently working towards her certification as a mental performance consultant for competitive athletes. She provides individual and group with approaches to include cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, strength based counseling and mindfulness training. Suzanne enjoys teams building with an experiential therapy approach with athletes, military student veterans and divisional employees. She has experience working in a Christian church private practice for faith based counseling with individuals and couples.

 

Suzanne has clinical professional experience with numerous mental health populations to include outpatient and inpatient clients, alcohol and drug abuse, LGBTQ plus, multicultural and diverse professionals, higher education professionals, medical health employees and NCAA athletes. She provides therapy for depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, interpersonal relationship concerns, and behavioral modification changes in health and wellness.

 

Suzanne enjoys public speaking at community outreach events both in person and virtual presentations to dispel the stigma of mental illness. She is trained in telemental health counseling for individual and group clinical services. She enjoys mentoring new professionals in the field of professional counseling with providing in-service training to educate on challenging, complex mental health issues.

 

Suzanne enjoys collaborating with many professional providers for a holistic approach to client care. She values the continuity of care while approaching clients with a deep understanding of inclusivity, compassion and commitment to achieve optimal results. She strives to provide the highest standard of customer service while committed to the mission of quality of care.

 

Suzanne is often recruited for suicide awareness trainings for students groups and staff members. She is an advocate in demystifying mental illness while embracing diversity, equity and inclusivity. She is a lifelong learner and always looking for ways to improve her knowledge of health and wellness while bringing authenticity to mental health. She enjoys weight training in gyms and long distance swimming. She is an avid Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Cinematic Universe enthusiast. Aficionado of Star Wars and Star Trek movies which she has been known to incorporate into counseling sessions at times.
