4 Simple Steps to Improve Your Sleep

Many Americans are sleep deprived. According to The National Sleep Foundation, we are supposed to get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. If you are like many of us, you are not getting the recommended hours of sleep per night. 

 

Try these four simple steps to getting better sleep: 

  1. Have a bed time routine. Your body needs to know when it's bed time. Start your routine 30 minutes before bedtime. 

  2. Turn off all electronics. Put your cell phone in a different room to avoid temptation to look at your phone when bored or unable to sleep. 

  3. Make sure your bedroom is comfortable. Take the time to organize your room by removing clutter and anything else in your room which may keep you awake or preoccupied. 

  4. Relax. This is key. In order to rest we need to relax. Set your room up with white noise, aromatherapy, comfy pillows, etc. This will set the room for relaxation.
