At Fit Therapy of Texas, our Licensed Professional Counselors utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is an evidenced based, effective form of treatment for depression and anxiety. 

 

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

 

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is talk therapy that focuses on changing your thoughts and behaviors. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are constantly interacting and influencing one another. How we interpret or think about a situation determines how we feel about it, which then determines how we'll react. 

 

 

 

How does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy help?

 

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps individuals learn coping skills to treat depression and anxiety.

 

The first step to CBT is understanding our thoughts and feelings which can be done with a thought diary/record such as the one below:

 Track your thoughts, feelings and behaviors as detailed in the thought record. This will provide you with insight on irrational thoughts and provide you with alternatives to a more rational, productive thoughts.
