Fit Therapy of Texas Gives Back

As a little girl, I worried about everything and everyone.

I wrote in my journal my worries daily and prayed for everyone until I fell asleep at night.

The need to help others never went away.

It became my life.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I help people for a living.

I also am the Co-Owner of Fit Therapy of Texas.

When we can, we give back!

With the help of our #fitfamily, we have been able to donate our expertise literally and support local nonprofits monetarily.

We are #thankful to have the opportunity to help the following people and nonprofits over the year:

  1. Elena- We were honored to be part of Elena’s journey. Elena made a promise to her dying son that she would change her life and become healthier. In 6 months, Elena lost 50 LBS and inches all over with the help of personal training, a meal plan, nutritional guidance and mental health counseling. She learned how to work out properly in order to not get hurt, how to eat right for her body, and how to manage her emotions to not emotionally eat. She was a huge inspiration to us all and will continue to be always!

  2. Soldiers Angels- An attempt to teach our community about healthy options during #fiesta, we created FITesta! At FITesta, we had local health businesses show case their holistic products/services and all proceeds from this event supported Soldiers Angels. We were elated we could support this amazing organization and the veterans who have served our country. #thankyou

  3. Alamo City Pitbull- This event was all about the pit bulls. We worked out together, held/played with cute puppies and talked about how adopting a Pit Bull can be good for one's mental health. All proceeds from this event benefited Alamo City Pit Bull’s rescue and rehabilitation efforts. We were also happy to know this event helped place several pit bulls in good homes!

  4. Hurricane Harvey Victims-our #fitfamily stepped up again to help our fellow Texans and donated water, toiletries, clothes and much more!

  5. The Lighthouse for the Blind- Often overlooked, our elderly population needs support too. That’s why once a month, Tracy Cooper, LPC volunteers her time to provide an amazing group of low vision and/or legally blind people with group therapy. This group has brought her so much joy. She always look forward to their time together.

  6. SA Threads- Tracy has a background in case management and a past work relationship with the founder of SA Threads, she knew she wanted to help her on her mission to provide socks and toiletries to teens aging out of foster care. If you are able to give back, join our mission and donate socks and toiletries all month long.

This holiday, stop and take a minute to think about what you are thankful for. Share with us what you are thankful for in the comments below.
