MEET STEPHANIE

Licensed Professional Counselor at Fit Therapy of Texas

Stephanie.png

My name is Stephanie and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPC). I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University, followed by my Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University. I have a diverse background working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, Veterans, and families while specializing in counseling approaches that are unique to each individual’s circumstance. These therapeutic modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Person-Centered Therapy.

I have experience working in private practice and acute hospitalization dealing with Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, Trauma, and Mood Disorders. What may work for some may not work for others; that is the beauty and uniqueness of counseling. I continue to advocate and strive to be a counselor serving individuals and the community as a stimulus for problem resolution, a facilitator for change, and to have individuals feel heard, respected, and validated as they struggle through the obstacles that prevent them from pursuing goals, living a productive, and fulfilled life in a nonjudgmental environment.

When I am not working with clients, I aim to practice self-care by spending time with my family and friends, cooking together, organizing, and decorating, going for walks with my dog, playing board games, traveling, and most importantly, having a good cup of coffee, and when the opportunity presents itself hang out at the beach and sit by a wood burning fire.
