Smarter and healthier way to eat a hamburger


Happy Independence Day!

Today, we are celebrating our independence with family, food and fireworks! If your family celebrates like ours, then you are grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. However, this year instead of having a traditional hamburger we are making our hamburger salad recipe.

I know this may come as a shock on the 4th, but trust us, this recipe is tasty. The best part about this recipe is that all of the ingredients are part of our healthy staple foods. Below is what you need to make this tasty hamburger salad along with the directions:

Ingredients:

*Ground Turkey 99% lean

*Lettuce or Spinach

*Vegan cheese

*Fat free Thousand Island dressing

*Pickles

*Avocados

*Banana Peppers (optional)

Directions:

Cook your ground turkey in a pan until completely cooked. Once the ground turkey is cooked, placed ground turkey in a bowl and top with vegan cheese. Make sure the vegan cheese is melted on your ground turkey for taste. This completes your 'hamburger patty' and now it's time to add all the toppings to your 'hamburger patty' in your salad. We like to start by adding our lettuce, cut up avocados, banana peppers, pickles, and finish with a thin layer of fat free thousand island dressing. That's it.
